#What species is the pale king?
62 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
that ones a dragon headed caterpillar, and its the closest one to the pale wyrm's skeleton
and then theres this one, and i swear i have never seen a bug that bears such great resembalance to a vessel
why does it look more like a green beast to me.
The Pale King is a Wyrm, a species of really powerful and giant bugs. The Pale King was a Wyrm who cast off his shell and was reborn in a smaller form, I think it was so it would be easier to rule a kingdom. And the dragon headed caterpillar actually really resembles the Soul Totems to me:
Also not every character is based on a real-life bug
But almost all of them have some kind of a bug aesthetic
Irl worm mouths look a lot like the Wyrm's mouth damb
Wyrms are similar to worms.
Grimm uses "worm" to refer to PK once, and Goams are called wormlike and the cast off shell looks also like some long wormlike creature.
So yeah he's a Wyrm and the design of Wyrms was based off worms.
Worth noting that "worm" is also used as an insult - even by Godseeker who thinks very very highly of PK and his old form - so yeah calling Wyrms "worms" isn't really... good ig ?
And Goams.
And Goams are somewhat similar to Wyrms in the way that they look like irl worms.
...wormlike ig.
so insofar as wyrms are wormlike, that term is reduced to "longer than it is wide"
Well-
and if godseeker uses worm as an insult then there's probably very little association between them and wyrms
If they weren't Grimm calling PK a "worm" would be very random.
Well using "worm" while alluding to PK. (is that the right word)
It's wordplay, not a serious comparison between worms and wyrms
in service of the agricultural analogy
Yes
Fight me.
i think i can archive this thread since the answer was given
I think hes not a species at all just a god
He's explicitely a Wyrm tho-
Tbf calling him worm is likely metaphorical since worms help replenish farmland, and the quote is referencing that. Not literally calling him a worm.
Wyrm is not the same as worm, wyrm is a mythological term for a dragonlike creature with no wings or legs though, so they just used the godly in dragon and kept it limbless, is what i believe at least
Not like what TC took inspiration from mattered anyway.
Probably but i dont think that worms normally have massive spikes, unless its some REALLY cool leach i dont know about lol
...I mean- Goams are wormlike.
Though i guess that they werent exactly going for realism though lol
Also goams might be based off of the extinct species known as armored worms, or something completely fictional
Doesn't matter what it's based off of imo.
Im not finding anything for a worm that looks like pk so i dont think we have enough evidence to find what its based off, and tbh yeah he looks really cool so im glad we got a fork instead of a real worm
The Pale Wyrm isnt even that spiky besides the mouth
Also some worms irl are kinda spiky? Like bristle worms
The right question is what species is Mossbag's bugsona?
neither of these things are true iirc
You cannot fucking tell me with a straight face that this man looks like this man
Dune sandworms are only close in that they're both toobs but the dune sandworm has a shit ton of teeth or baleen on the inside which the PK lacks, and the PK has all them tusks/horns/teeth things on the outside
Also PK is spiky and has armored plating
Of all the characters in this game PK is one of the few with a confirmed species
And yet people still try to assign a real life counterpart to him
Whack
Holy shit, maybe the ridiculously bright mountain sized nigh-immortal godlike creature who reincarnated into a smaller godlike creature from the magic bug game who can grant lesser bugs sapience and literally see the future doesn't exist irl????
Having said that, PK is clearly a parasitic wasp.
We're talking about what he's BASED ON, not what he is
He's based on a Wyrm
And doesn't have a real life analogue
TC haven't shared what the inspiration for him was, assuming one even exists
So whatever you're talking about is baseless speculation
Also thank you for clarifying that you were talking about what he was BASED ON rather than what he is... but
I already knew that
The point of the message below was to demonstrate how ridiculous it is to go looking for something that could even vaguely resemble a HK Wyrm irl, not to imply that I thought you were discussing how Wyrms may actually exist
I assumed that would have been obvious from the context
It's fun
