do a past mock paper and see what you don’t know, study the solution and check if it’s a technique you’re unaware of or just good logic you missed, do more past papers or learn the stuff
you can also start with modular arithmetics ( basics of umber theory ) and permutation and combination ( included in combinatorics )
oh shit great idea
do you know by chance any good book for this
yea these are sorta prerequisits we dont know where you are at so
any good book for prep of ioqm?
An excursion in Mathematics would be a good place to start
The preperation for both the exams are the same
oh, i see
U dont need to prepare seperately for each.
have you written ioqm
yeah
last year, 49
85 ☠️/102
12/102 i choked hard
for number theory " elementary number theory by david m burton " is good
for combinatorics idk ( pnc class 11 ncert gives base )
damn
come back harder!!!
VOS yt classes are good (for systematic ioqm/rmo prep)
or you can ask chatgpt and get a detailed portion and study 1 topic (by watching yt) and do questions based on that
one addition to it will be:
- take a book and write the question down
- take a rough work and figure out the answer
- copy down a neat step by step explanation of answer to the first book
- check if it is correct
- if not write down the correct explanation
- take a photo of these and ask chatgpt on where could one improve , what topic am i unaware of , what would be a cleaner solution etc
(this is to contrast between the answer we get and to learn how to think on the straight path)
ask them instead
for everything rn just do excursions
and mock tests
tysm guys ♥️
