im not really sure if thats correct but thats how i would do it
do you have the solution by any chance?
Oh all the terms cancel lol. I agree with your solution right up until the last step idk how you did that
How'd you get max ratio h = H/3
so i took the ratio
Vout/Vin = H^3/h^3
then take derivative
you got -3* H^3/h^4
Derivative is always negative (for h > 0)
Ratio decreases as h increases
h must be less than H
nah i dont think what im doing is correct tbh
but ill still try to prove it
Ok
Lol np
The vertex of the inner cone is ON the base (at the centre of the base)
I think there's some Pythagorean Theorem to do here but I'm being lazy hold on
rip
the geometry changes
or not really actually
because of the geometric relationship between the cones
it shouldn matter
Ty bro I'll go think on it
np good luck with that crap
I'm pretty sure I did this exact same question like 9 months ago but I'm so out of practice that I forgot it
that was my first time facing a problem like that but i hope i could help a little
alteast
Ay you did better than me definetely helped ty
i’m not trying to put you down, but i just recommend walking the OP through your process first before posting a solution
hmm yea true but that takes for ever i get good results by posting my solution
and then they ask question
maybe correct me then i correct them discussing the solution
but i get your point too
it’s just, like, against server policy basically
what you’re doing is good
probably better than anyone i’ve met who has sent solutions
cause you explain the rationale well

**When helping people, please do not dump the full solution. **
Remember that these people are trying to learn concepts, and our goal should be to reinforce them. Giving them a solution will not help.
**Instead, give them hints and guide them toward the correct solution. **
You can ask things like "what part did you get stuck on?" or "what have you tried so far?" or give them a small starting hint. This ensures better learning. For more tips, reach out to Schlaumau (@schlaumau).
wait yea you told me that before too actually
yea ill try to do that but if i ask most people
send me what you have they have nothing
thats why i like uni people they really know what theyre doing and you can discuss
and learn
but from now on ill ask questions and not post the solution
straight away
👍
Yo dw I actually learned a lot from him
