On microsoft math solver it doesnt simplify roots such as sqrt(x^4) or sqrt(k^6) instead of dividings the powers by two and pulling them outside of the root. Is this a cliche or can you not simplify something like sqrt(x^4) as x^2

yes, but just remember for odd functions like $\sqrt{x^3}$ that is has to be where $x\geq 0$
