Context:
I got 60% on a test (yeah I know I suck at math), and I need help to get the bump-up marks.
(note: this isn't cheating as the test is already marked, and she encouraged her students to get others to help correct their tests to do this bump up, and she never stated that I couldn't use social media or the internet for help, the only difference is that I'm asking people online instead of in person).
FULL QUESTION: "A triangle has vertices D(-8,4), E(7,4), and F(1,-2). Determine the equation of the median from vertex D."
So during question 5, I had to solve the median of a triangle on vertex D, anyways when I got to solving the median, this is what I wrote:
M= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
= (4-1)/(-8-4)
M=3/-12
I could see how this could be reduced to 1/-4, but she wrote -1/4 as the correct answer. How does that make sense? Last time I checked, 4-1 is 3, and -8-4 is -12.
I still have to correct the rest of the equation :/ but first, I need to figure out how 3/-12 turns into -1/4
