#LS/RS Check, I need help!

My Teacher told me to do a LS/RS check for a survival guide(basically notes that get marked) and the problem is, I don't really know how to do them. (I'm Canadian, our standard form is written as Ax+By+C=0)

Y=3/2x-5

3x-4y-8=0

oh and I already solved these, answers were y=1 and x=4, I just need help with ls/rs
