so what does the 6 mean
like
in terms of the graph
X
the x of what
🫠 uh
the x intercept?
Yes
There's no line
Put the value of x in any of the equaltions and solve for y
ugh i knew someone was gonna say this 💀
rip
i was trying to get op to think about what the x meant
oh I'm sorry
3x+4(6)=2?
anyways op, why do we put the value of x into the equations
like, why does this work
ive been trying to get you to figure this out
Horizontal?
have you ever done like a systems solve graphically
Can you show an example
consider a line x=y on the graph. For x=0 what would be y?
so you have some lines (these are not your lines dw about this) right
so what are you looking for by solving the systems of equations?
Also 0? (0,0)
The x and y coordinate
The point of the two lines
yes the intersectyion point
so how do you find the value of y, knowing the value of x of the intersection point of the two lines?
hint: ||replace "the intersection point" with "a point on"||
Find the point on the vertical line
i do not see vertical lines here
The y intercept
that is not correct sadly

okay lets take a step back
you have the x value of the point where they intersect right
so now you want the y value
the hint i gave was
the x value is on this line
Yes but why do I need to understand the graph?
I have never used method on a graph yet
this will help you understand why you do what unibic told you to do
i think its important for you to understand why it helps with memory
because you can easily misremember this as something else and get it wrong in the future
Yes
mhm
okay lets ask you a question thats similar but related
whats the value of y at x=5 for the line 3x-6?
Subsition?
9
We substitute 6 into x? 3(6)+4y=2?
mhm
yea
so we spent all that time on just figuring this out, but what i want you to remember is
the reason why you do that
is because youre trying to find the point of intersection.
the point of intersection is just the y value of the line at that x value.
just like this question right here
does that make sense
I'm really slow at math D:
Yes
nono dont worry
i made it a bit more complicated on purpose so you remember this key fact
18+4y=2???
