do you remember soh cah toa
briefly yes
its just an application of that here
sin= opp/adj, cos=adj/hypot, tan= opp/adj
(this may sound really stupid but i genuinely havent seen this material in a bit haha), but it will be b= h*sin(58 degrees) no?
whats b and h here
ah sorry one sec lemme draw it
i guess im more so confused as to why we're using sin instead of cos
yup
because we dont know the length of the adjacent side
hold on, real quick can you show me on a triangle which side is the adjacent and which is the opposite just so i can double check lmao
i may have written something incorrectly on my notes 💀
adjacent is the side touching the angle
opposite is the side not touching the angle
yay :D
One last thing
Whats the answer you got from this?
I think my teacher might have had the wrong answer on the mini-quiz they had us do (the length was smaller than the opp and adj which cant happen)
,w 1.5/sin58degrees
bruh
lmao
,w 1.5/sin(58/pi*360)
ok perfect
the quiz showed the correct answer as 0.98 and i just wanted to make sure this was right
tysm!!
thats silly lol
