What are the steps in between for this integration by parts? I don't know what to pick as u or dv and how to get du and v.

In calculus, and more generally in mathematical analysis, integration by parts or partial integration is a process that finds the integral of a product of functions in terms of the integral of the product of their derivative and antiderivative. It is frequently used to transform the antiderivative of a product of functions into an antiderivative...

  • imagine "L" being the hardest to integrate
  • followed by "I" (inverse trigonometric funtions)
  • ...
  • "E" (exponentials) are easiest to integrate
choose "dv" to be the factor that's easier to integrate with "dx"

use tabular method to keep things organised

I already got it but thank you, I'll save that

In my case I'm already using u as the variable instead of x, can I just do u = u, du = du and so on or should I change "u" for a different letter?

if u/v has already been used for sth else, then you have to use another label.

Okay thank you
