So, the shape you're looking at is a tetrahedron. If you can find the distance from the vertex to the center of an equilateral triangle, you can use that as 1 of the legs of a right triangle, the other leg being the height of the tetrahedron. You can also find the height of the equilateral triangle and use that as the hypoteneus of your right triangle. Then use Pythagoreans theorem to fing the height of the tetrahedron. Finally V=BH/3 and that will be your final answer.
No calc is even necessary, only trig and geometry
Wait hang on, I was about to gi to sleep and I realized I'm wrong. The hypoteneus of the right triangle is just the side length of the tetrahedron.
