the answer key says its p=-4

Here’s some tips

why do you chose a+b and ab

it says sum of roots

so souldnt it be a+b + ab from the firts equation

and then 2(a+b x ab) for the second equation

i am still so confused

i can do all the working but i just dont understand like the first step

of turning the words from the question into equations

i know alpha+beta = -b/a and alpha x beta=c/a
