we find the GCD or GCF whatever they call it where you are

clearly x^2 divides both

#

and gcd of 5 and 20 is 5

#

so the GCD is -5x^2 or 5x^2 negative signs are well idk

#

so we factor out -5x^2, note that this is doing the distributive property backwards
