For 5 do the following
- Get both equations in the form x^2 = …
- Use the transitive property (if a = b and b = c then a = c). This should get you an equation with just y
- Solve the quadratic
For 4, find a root of p(x) by trial error, call it a, divide p(x) by (x-a), then solve the quadratic
To make this faster, I’d suggest looking up synthetic division
what about problem 3 and 2?
3? it tells you to just draw the triangle out...
2, well you need to simplify that thing greatly, so just see what you can do in terms of simplification :D
- Remember that tan(angle) = opposite/adjacent
What would the side opposite of the angle be? What about the side adjacent to?
5, pull off substitution
