Hmm... This looks less like a convolution.
It does look similar to convolution of lognormal and beta-prime distributions, though. Hmm...
Is this also a pdf times cdf like before darpy?
This seems the EXACT same as last time chosing X ~ LogNorm(k,s^2) and Y~BetaPrime(a=1,b=1) we get with the same arithmetic as before using law of total probability as I=P(X>Y)
Getting stuck at the same point maybe you cant solve it better that that?
Note that the convolution isn't just the integral of a product of PDFs. Look up its definition.
Yea but i tried to do it bit differently than using the convolution
Yea pls
Ah, darn it...
That was easy.
Substitution makes this a convolution that we discussed before.
Oh my God that's so unsatisfying
Yea that solves the other question instantly too
Ugh
We definitely overcomplicated it way too much didn't even need to look at it through a probability theory lens
TELL ME ABOUT IT
We could tell that I(0) was 1/2 with the probabilistic methods too didn't need to compute the integral in that case
Maybe use the standard normal substitution? But I feel like that will change the second distribution into the general case 🥴
I think P(X>Y) is the best you can do there for the general case unless you reapply lotp and try to solve it in the form of a double integral
I'm gonna post this on stackexchange cuz I'm really flummoxed

Yeah, that would be nice!
We did notice that it reduces to a convolution, but we don't know how to interpret it for nonzero k.
So , yeah , i heard you are calc god so i linked you here
I wanna go home
- dappy suggested you

You cant until you solve
WAHHHHHHHHHH
Its cdf of X+Y right darpy?
@dark jewel cmon your badge has triple integration
You can do this triviality
fr
I also wanna see your magic
I put it on stackexchange cuz im convinced apex will fail
That i heard so much of
Nope
Just watch
good plan, means I don't even have to try
You must learn to handle alex
I was negging you
Dont give him any chance of slipping away
yeah, ain't working fella
You talking abt brodie like hes an animal lol
Built different (worse)
Hes a calc lion
my left nostril is blocked
Get well soon
means I can't do maths
Right nostril still open
Remember ?
Checkmated
Your lower jaw suddenly violently recesses back
unfortunately no checkmate
chin just falls off
Like that american dude from the 1900's who drank radium water
This is why my $2 timex indiglo is superior
me before maths
@robust dune inherently as long as i know alex , he will most prolly try this question till the end , he wont miss this chance to flex infront of best math people this server has to provide.
me after maths
yeah, I won't miss it
Knew it
I'll probably post just the answer with no workings at 4:34am today
If youre putting me in that generalization then its a pretty sad scene
I'm literally cleo
You are one of the best problem solvers of this server dude
Huh??
can't problem solve himself some bitches tho
cry about it
I'm not
Darpy was typing and your autism scared him away
Alex is just an unawakened prodigy , he just does calc all dau
Atleast first part is true
acting like I'm stupid
😏
Bruh I thought you finished ur MS or something what are you a squidget like the rest
I am yes
All the active people on this server are basiclly teenagers
all of the above
Zfn , magma , alex , dappy , everyone is just 15-17
just like Boris is definitely prehistoric
I'm just gonna delete my account atp
I cant hang around you babies
Stockfish is older
out of all the named people I am the only non teen
@robust dune stockfish is like you
25% error is acceptable
Cuz youre 5+7 lmao
yeah fr
Embryo ass mf
I literally summoned you as my underling
@robust dune did you try reimann summations ?
Ofc I can solve a basic line integral
Huh?
Change the integral into a reimann sum
Oh this question
And maybe it becomes some kind of a calculatove series
Yeah
Yea i dont see that working at all its way too complex the probablistic approach seems the best I feel
nah
Ok granddad
I'm far too lazy for this bs
Same thats why I put it on stack
maybe I'll give it a shot later
I didnt even ping u cuz ik if you pinged me i wouldnt bother checking it
Sure
Aight bet see the other similar question me and darpy both lined out what we did there
He never does imo
I don't ping anyone
i go now
only the original poster
fr
what the fuck is s
and why isn't I a function of k and s
I'm not reading the previous chat logs
spoon-feed me info
Wait ill ping you come to the other one this is an ugly mess
Students when they see a Laplace transform for the first time:
I am a strong hater of Laplace
I got somewhere with standard methods @robust dune
'standard methods'
but I'm gonna publish on it rather than post here
why?
@dark jewel where did you publish it ?
nowhere currently
idk, I'm not sure if I even will get enough together to publish
I haven't got much yet
i see
Where brodie
Put it on here no
Thanks for looking into it tho it's driving me mad
I can't publish on this 😦
then you could find my full name ezpz
hard knock life
Bro nobody cares what's anyone gonna do with your name
magma will ruin my life
😄 hi there
Ong none of us are gonna do anything worth publishing till our phd thesis pipe down hombre
see, he's always watching
Unless you can generalize it for int of pdf cdf over the same support maybe then it's publish-able

Idk if it works , havent even touched paper till now but boris says it doesnt work
It would not help
Yup
🥱
anyways I was bluffing, I've done nothing except establish a recursion
Kekw , stockfish is the only hope i guess
But hes too busy
nah bro the real solution is to guess by evaluating numerical and looking at the chart
Soooo
fr
is anyone left ?
On this server
?
Alex , dappy , magma , boris
Darpinger
Krypton this integral is not that easy to be frank
Maybe swindle but hes afk
Recursion is not that bad of an idea
I'm convinced me and darpy have done the best that can be done
Depending on how nice the recursion is
What did ya’ll do?
Yup , i saw that , i couldnt believe my eyes when no one solved it , thus i have already have a legandary status for this question
If it involves a PDF or convolutions I ain’t doing shit
He showed it's in the form of a convolution
ah
And i showed it simplified down to P(X>Y)
Where x sim normal and y sim standard logistic
Oh yeah I guess if you build a recursion off that you might be able to get a closed-form
but this seems horrid
Better than nothing still
Not only am I not going to be sharing my work, I'm not even going to continue working on it!!
Thats a bad move
That is great!! I’m not even going to start working on it!!
what is k and s
I only know reimann integration and that too poorly , so i might not be of any help
Nvm
K is the mean s is the stdev
arithmetic mean ?
leave it its not possible by me by a long shot
Krypton what are you saying
Well, expected value.
Basically, this is a convolution of N(k, s^2) and Logistic(0, 1).
Idk whats convolution logistiv and N , so leave it , i am a junkie highschooler anyways
For now let's wait and see if stackexchange responds
Yeah , idk this stuff
Current understanding is that it's not solvable beyond that p(x>y)term
Is this one of your designed memes
Nah, I googled this one.
I quit after designing one meme. It isn't for me, too quick.
