@everyone
The rope is 30 meters when rounded to the nearest half meter. The smallest the rope can be is 29.75, else it’ll be rounded to 29.5. The largest it can be is 30.249999… else it’ll be rounded to 30.5 (for precision sake we’ll say 30.25)
With the cut piece, it’s 5.8 rounded to nearest tenth. The nearest tenth below 5.8 is 5.7, where something below 5.75 would get rounded down, meaning the cut piece is at least 5.75. The cut piece must be less than 5.85 otherwise it would get rounded to the next tenth meter length, 5.9
What is the greatest that (rope length) - (cut length) can be? Remember that when subtracting, the smaller the second number, the greater the final number
