You're right about the first question, it's n(n+1)

For part B,
n(n+1)=n^2+n=72
n^2+n-72=0
So, how do you rewrite that in the form of (n+/-p)(n+/-q)?

I was taught the 'product-sum method' in school. The sum of the two numbers you use is b, and the product is c (from x^2+bx+c)
