2(2x² + 13x - 24)
So now we need to factorise 2x² + 13x - 24
I see you used the x-method
But it should be -48 and 13
I've tried every factor of 24 but none of them work with m+n= b
Because in the top, you have to put a*c
It should be -48 instead of 24
In the bottom, you have to put b
so I'm using the original equation?
No we're still looking at 2x² + 13x - 24
just using -48 instead?
It should be like this so far
ohhhhh
I think I found m and n
16 * -3 = -48
16 + -3 = 13
that's correct
Not yet
Now you have to rewrite 2x² + 13x - 24 again but write bx (26x) in terms of 16 and -3
You do this by attaching an x to 16 and -3
Because 16x -3x = 13x
I just have to make the binomials match now I think
so would -3 turn into positive 3?
final answer I think
You factorised it wrong
oh shoot okay
Wait lemme check
But here it should say: 2(2x(x+8)-3(x**+8**))
→ 2(2x-3)(x+8)
okay cool! tysm for your help!
