Suppose you have x*5. This equals x+x+x+x+x (5 times)
x*n = x+x+x+… (with n amount of x)
Exponents is repeated multiplication
So x^5 is x•x•x•x•x
It's just another way of saying mutiply this?

to be clear, 3^5 is another way of writing 3⁵
