It's just summing the torques(moments) to get the total torque about the CG(center of gravity probably)
The torques/moments Mow, Mot are summed directly. The moments from the forces Lw, Lt are the normal (to the line) components of Lw, Lt which is Lwcosa, Ltcosa times the distances of the points where those forces act from the center of gravity (XAC-XCG), (XT-XCG).
Can you see how Lw, Lt produce opposite torques around the CG ( one clockwise the other counterclockwise)
