one property of a function is that 1 value of x only corresponds to 1 value of y or f(x)
What does that mean
for example the 1st option is not a function cuz at x=2 there are two different values of f(x) which are f(x)=3 and f(x)=7
Ok so the numbers that are below x have to relate?
yes you have to see both x and f(x)
So with that being said, It could not be three either
why?
1 value of x only corresponds to 1 value of y
but 1 value of y can correspond to more than 1 value of x
So the x numbers have to be different, but the ycan be the same
mhm not necessarily, if there are two x=2 with both the same y say f(x)=3, then it's fine, cuz at x=2 there's only 1 y which is f(x)=3
Yeah, but that’s if they’re the same
So if all of that it would be number three because there’s two different xwith the same y and it’s not number four because the X and y are the same in one but not the other one
yes
Ok wait thank u I understand it now.
