Recall that similar means all the angles are congruent, all the angles are the same. Since the three angles of a triangle must add up to 180 degrees, then angles N + P + L = 180. In other words, 43 + x + 90 = 180

Set up equivalent ratios. Fractions work just as well if you prefer.
Short leg 1 : short leg 2 = long leg 1 : long leg 2

Simplifying may help
