(5^x)/5 + 3(3^y) = 82
5^x + 15(3^y) = 410 (1)
5(5^x) + (3^y)/3 = 34
15(5^x) + 3^y = 102 (2)
substitute a = 5^x and b = 5^y
a + 15b = 410
15a + b = 102
solve both equations for a and b, then from there you can get x and y
@limber swan can you give me each step in a way a grade 7 will understand please
have you studied simultaneous equations?
which part you don't understand?
the entire equation was multiplied by 5
