if the discriminant is zero, then the quadratic equation has one root, and the discriminant is equal (in the general case, if we have a quadratic equation ax²+bx+c) √(b²-4ac).
so in our case:

#

√(p²-8)=0;
p²-8=0;
p²=8
p=+-2*√2

#

it`s for (6)

#

for (7):
what is m?

I think they mean that m = k.

ok, then:
D(discriminant) > 0, so √(4²-4k)>0;
4²-4k>0;
4²>4k;
16>4k;
4>k;
so k є (-∞; 4)

where 'Ñ”' it belongs

belongs to this interval
