I’m confused with this problem because it doesn’t fit the standard formula for graphing since it does not have an “h” or “k”.

#

Ignore the erase marks, I keep on just restarting.

oh i see

#

ok so

#

since x = 0

#

the focus here would be a quarter or 1/4 because of the 1 being substituted in

#

in other words we would have (0, 1/4)

#

and because of this being found out we can start plotting

#

since we know that the vertex is (0,0) we leave that alone

#

then we work our way backward with our focus

#

Let me put out the points

waxen elbow
#

that would be really helpful

gloomy ermine
#

yeah i’m sorry i usually get carried away with this stuff

#

I’m glad that you’re helping out though

#

so I can finally learn this

gloomy ermine
#

X Y
-2 4
-1 1
0 0 (Vertex)
1 1
2 4

#

it’s basically a flip

#

thank you for listing those points down, if you could can you explain to me how you got the first X,Y

gloomy ermine
#

the (-2,4)?

waxen elbow
#

yes!

gloomy ermine
#

alright

#

so we know 1/4 is our focus

#

and we’re subbing that in along with the 1 that’s already there

#

we’re basically adding 2

#

and then adding 1

#

since this parabola is a rotation

#

I think I got it now

#

thank you for your help
