the sides will be equal

so let each side be y

#

so 3y = 45

#

so y = 15

#

now since all sides are equal, BC = 15

#

so 2x + 15 = 40

#

so 2x = 25

#

so x = 12.5

#

there AB = 12.5

#

and BC = 15
