Hello!
Can anyone identify the name of this kind of Problem? Or at least provide an tutorial on how to fix it. Some people told me it seems like Discreet math.

fervent sorrel
#

whats the question?

blazing rain
#

The only way I could have solve this was by replacing the Xs, but still this was wrong according to my dad, cuz I can only do that with Ys or something like that

blazing rain
#

Or what is this kind of problem called

fervent sorrel
#

wheres the question?

blazing rain
#

It's above

fervent sorrel
blazing rain
#

Sorry if my english is bad

blazing rain
#

You mean the question of the problem?

fervent sorrel
#

yes?

blazing rain
#

Nono, my dad just gave me those exercise and told me to figure out them.

fervent sorrel
#

icc theres like a) and b)

#

these two are different questions?

blazing rain
#

Yeah yeah

#

They are different questions

#

These are three questions

fervent sorrel
#

okay

#

u haave to graph it or something?

#

like find range or domain or what?

blazing rain
#

Like, the numbers

#

{3,4,5,6,7}

#

And so on

fervent sorrel
#

icc

blazing rain
#

And I think these numbers are the result of that mathematical operation

fervent sorrel
#

like u first put x=1 and find y

#

basically all integers (for b part)

blazing rain
#

Ohhhh

#

@fervent sorrel You mean that I replace the X with all the numbers? 1,2,3,4,5

fervent sorrel
#

yeah

#

u dont really have to put it

blazing rain
#

And those numbers will give me the result of the question?

blazing rain
fervent sorrel
#

i mean u have to find the set of all the answers when u put x=1 then 2 then 3 4 5 right?

blazing rain
#

If these were Y and not X

#

Cuz Y was an Invariable

fervent sorrel
#

what was ur answer?

blazing rain
#

Variable*

#

Or something like that

fervent sorrel
#

okay this is easy

#

u know how to define a set?

blazing rain
blazing rain
fervent sorrel
#

for b :

S = {y: y= x^ + 2x + 1 , x ∊ Q}

#

easy as that hahayes

blazing rain
#

These were like that, the ones written in pencil (Sorry if my handwrite is not the best)

fervent sorrel
#

okay

blazing rain
#

Oh and my answers in B I had to erase them, but went like

{4. 9. 16...}

#

But my dad said these were also wrong

fervent sorrel
#

There are two way to define a Set

  1. Roaster form
  2. Setbuilder form

for example if u have to represent a set of all prime number

roaster form would be like
S = {2,3,5,7,11, ............}

setbuilder form will be like
S = (x: x is prime )

[in set builder form ' : ' means ' such that ']
[so basically in setbuilder form its like
S = all x such that x is prime]

#

and then u can put ' , ' for conditions

blazing rain
#

OHHHHH

I know what u mean, also for setbuilder you could also use {2<x< 12}

#

Yeah I know that, But I knew these concepts in spanish

fervent sorrel
#

okay

fervent sorrel
blazing rain
#

AHHH

#

I get it

#

Why the Y if the Y was like something invariable? @fervent sorrel

#

Variable* Like you could replace it with any nimber

fervent sorrel
#

nope but i have said that y = x^2 + 2x + 1

#

its defined in the set

blazing rain
#

Hmmmm

#

I think I know what u mean

fervent sorrel
#

so ' y ' will only be whats given as 'x'

#

gud

blazing rain
fervent sorrel
blazing rain
#

Sorry sorry lol

fervent sorrel
#

can u show me the actual question from the book

#

cause from what u said to me i dont think the question would be that easy

blazing rain
#

Uhhhhh

#

These were given by my dad xd But I might find the question

Because most of the set related stuff are like AUB D e A and so on

blazing rain
#

I'm seeing the first semester of maths rn

fervent sorrel
#

oh

#

okay so u got it?

blazing rain
#

Hmmm

#

Not sure how the X works@fervent sorrel

fervent sorrel
#

u can take help from someone else

#

okay

#

sorry then maybe i am not that good in explaining

blazing rain
blazing rain
#

It's better than nothing

fervent sorrel
#

u understand functions?

blazing rain
#

Wait a second

fervent sorrel
#

okay if i say

#

f(x) = x^2 + 1

#

and ask u whats f(2)?

blazing rain
#

THis one sounds interesting

fervent sorrel
#

ic u havent studied 'Relation and Functions' yet

blazing rain
#

I have to "despejar" (Clear I think it is said(

blazing rain
#

OOps

#

Wrong one

fervent sorrel
#

u dont know english?

blazing rain
#

But what I don't quite know is the mathematical language in English

blazing rain
#

Yep

fervent sorrel
#

the question is probably to convert from set builder form to roaster form

blazing rain
#

I think I know what u mean

#

Yeah likely

blazing rain
#

Imma text u if I have any other Issues

fervent sorrel
#

okay

blazing rain
#

@fervent sorrel Do you also know of exercise within Set stuff that are like this?

fervent sorrel
#

yes

blazing rain
fervent sorrel
#

u want some ?

#

sure

blazing rain
#

Yeah

fervent sorrel
#

on the right side of green line are the answers

blazing rain
fervent sorrel
#

i have some more

#

but they are like for JEE mains and advance is it fine if i share those too?

blazing rain
#

👀
