or am I just doing all of this wrong
i would assume i need to use the sum rule
so would I just use the piecewise function to figure out the function?
like using h'(1) = f'(1) + g'(1),
but then i'd need to find the derivative of g
could I just use the derivative of both functions of g, then plug in 1 for it? and the same thing for f(x)?
h'(x) = f'(x) + g'(x)
also derivative = slope
both f(x) and g(x) can be seen as 2 linear functions
then for g(3) it's just 2.5?
yes, and g'(3) = 0 since is a horizontal line
