what's the value of g(x)?? i know f(x) is | x - 3 | + 1 but i can't figure out what g(x) would be without using piecewise functions and idk how to take the derivative of piecewise functions

or am I just doing all of this wrong

i would assume i need to use the sum rule

so would I just use the piecewise function to figure out the function?

like using h'(1) = f'(1) + g'(1),

but then i'd need to find the derivative of g

could I just use the derivative of both functions of g, then plug in 1 for it? and the same thing for f(x)?

also derivative = slope
