so the exponent is getting larger, how does that help converge to 0? I assume we want the exponent to equal 0 so we can get 1-1=0
Check again. The exponent's getting smaller.
It's getting more negative, but wouldn't a very negative exponent such as -10,000 result in a total of 0? Then 1-0=1 instead of 0.
