Cannot hold button to use tools

• I cannot hold the button (on controller or keyboard) to use tools. The tools that have upgraded range by hold or even just holding the button to swing the axe or pickaxe multiple times. Everything was working fine a few days ago, but I started experiencing this yesterday evening (Central US Time) and it basically swings once normally, then the tool disappears from my character's hand, still does a swing animation and hits the target, then my character just stops swinging. Then when I move away, my character will strafe, but with sprint speed. I found that if I used the upgraded hoe or watering can and hold the button longer than it takes to get the upgraded range, my character will be stuck in the swing animation and unable to move. The HUD will disappear, but I can still open menus.
• Reproduction Steps: every time I hold the action button to try and use ANY tool.
• Repro Rate: Every time I hold the button with any tool.
• Game Platform: Steam, on PC
• Game Version: publicbeta13
• Input Mode: Keyboard/Mouse and controller
• Save file: DailySave_0.sav
