Lost my save file after crash

Reproduction steps

Summer 28, Year 1
Went to the Ranch to buy new animals, then to the Carpenter.
Saw the Cutscene where Surya told Dinda and Joko that he was going to move out.
Had a Hangout with Surya at the museum, then walked around and while trying to pick up a flower near Sam's shop, the game froze and crashed. I clicked 'Send and Restart'. In the menu, I selected 'Play' and suddenly a new game started (without the Character Customization) I skipped the Cutscenes and exited out. Then I saw the new game replaced my old file and saved over it.

Yes I have Steam Cloud enabled.

So what happened was:
In the morning, I petted and and fed my animals, and put eggs in the mayo machine. Rearranged my sprinklers. I headed to the Ranch, bought a cow and a sheep, talked to Jack, Kira and Kenny. Then I went to the Carpenters and changed the look of my coop and barn, after that the Cutscene played. Directly after, I invited Surya to hang out.
The hangout at the museum ended and from the museum I walked straight to the spot where I was about to pick up a flower on the ground (left of Sam's shop)
During the picking up movement of my player, the game froze and then crashed.

Also, regarding your Save File—you might still be able to recover it through Steam Cloud. Here’s how you can check:

• Go to: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage
• Search for Coral Island and click Show Files
• Look for: ProjectCoral/Saved/SaveGames/DailySave_0.sav
• Download the file and place it into your local save folder by pasting this into Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames
• Make sure the file is named DailySave_0.sav, then launch the game and see if it shows up

just tried it, and I saw there was already a file called DailySave_0.sav in my folder

Not a dev, but in the meantime can you check if the DailySave in the folder and in steam cloud have the same date and time?

Yes they have the same date

It probably means that new file created and is in your folder the same as steam cloud’s.
I would suggest sending the entire savedgames folder here in zip format so that the team can check everything out.
And if you can clarify what was the name of your farm and how far along was it (ex, year 2 summer 1).

Yes I remember. I was still playing normally on April 20th and the crash happened on the 21st

Got it! From the list in your screenshot, it looks like there’s still a backup from April 20th (SaveBackup_1_8.sav).

Could you try loading that file to see if it helps recover your progress? Here’s how:

• Download the file and place it into your local save folder by pasting this into Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames
• Since you already have DailySave_0.sav in that folder, you can rename this backup file to DailySave_1.sav or use any other number
• Launch the game and check if the save appears
