Hello!
So I started playing Coral Island a couple years ago; and at the time I was on my boyfriend’s steam account. So my first ever play through is on my boyfriend’s account.
I have bought the game and begun to play on my own account, and would like to move this first file to my pc. My bf made a copy of the .sav file but when he tried to put it on my pcs game files it wouldn’t show up.
Is there a way to move the file to my pc without losing my current saves?
I’ve looked around on google but it didnt offer much help/ things other than what we tried already (copying save, him sending it to me, and placing it in my game files)

You need to make sure you're getting the save from & putting the save into the folder listed here - #1265611880127270932 message
I think you can hit the windows key and type %localappdata% and then enter to get to it. But I'm not near a PC to test if my memory is right 😂

If the folder doesn't exist you may want to create a temporary 1 day farm to make sure things are all in order

Yeah, you have to have a save file on the 'receiving' computer for that folder to exist. Just make sure to rename the file you're moving over with a number that doesn't already exist - so like if you already had a DailySave_0 and a DailySave_1, name the copied file to DailySave_2 BEFORE you put it in the 'receiving' computer's folder. You can do numbers up to 99 I think.
Make sure the game isn't running when you pop it in too, it doesn't 'stick' if the game's running

Would it help to uninstall and then reinstall the game?
Like why wouldn’t the game have a save files folder in the first place

I have three save games on my pc already tho so idk why it wouldn’t already be in the files?

are you sure you are in the correct place in your saves? can you share a screenshot?

Click that Users file then there should be one with your user name (like computer user not steam or whatnot)
Open that one with your name and there should be an appdata one. That might be hidden, so if you don't see it that might be why. If you do see it, open it and then open the "local" folder inside it

That top bar like under where it says marym at the very top - there's a view button. Click that and there should be a checkbox for like "view hidden items"
Yeah, the steam folder accessible part doesn't have the saves, we need to be in that user folder

The ELT is the save file I think I was trying to move to here, but I couldn’t get it to open and neither could my bf

That's the spot! Just rename the file with the next number up. So like change whatever number it is to a 2 looks like

Yup! The .sav part will probably stay on its own, so just put the DailySave_2 part

Hm. it could be a few things. First thing I'd try is get the file again. Show them where you had to go to get at the save folder and make sure they get it from there (but under their user name). It's possible it got kind of garbled in the moving around, so just try with a fresh version of it
