Title: Pretty frequently when we go to bed at night the game will load back to the main screen prior to saving.
Reproduction Steps: We went to bed at the end of the night. There seems to be no correlation between the nights-sometimes we play and it's fine, and sometimes we play and it crashes every other night. It does not crash out completely of the game, just brings us back to title screen.
Repro Rate: How often does the issue occur? Frequently but not every single time.
In-Game Date & Time: When did the crash happen in-game? At night time when we go to bed.
Players & Platform: 2 players @tidal flicker on steam and myself on steam.
Game Version: v1.2b-1246
Input Mode: I am on keyboard/mouse, 2nd player is on controller
PC Specs: If you’re on PC, please check your system using this guide.
#Crashing in co-op on steam

Hiyaa @blazing vault, really sorry about this! That must be sucks doing everything in a day to end up booted to the main menu 🥲
Does it give you any connection pop up when the issue occurred? 😮
This just happened in my co-op game as well. For us it happened at the end of day after the animal festival. There was no error pop-up or anything. We've also had random crashes after the results screen at night but before the game saves.
I host a 4-player game
Thank you for responding, I do not get any errors or anything, it just loads out the day and the next screen that comes up is the stairway logo and Im back on the main screen again.
Ahhh really sorry this happen during your session as well! 🙁
When you said random crashes, does it generate an Unreal Engine popup after that?
Got it that it doesn't give any popup! 📝 hmmm... since it happened at night, are you the host by any chance? Since it happened at random, do you remember how many times have you got this issue?
Like does it happen every time you played, as in for example you decide to play 5 days today and in day 5 it suddenly booted to main menu, then tomorrow when you play 4 days in-game it happened at day 4?
The full crashes create a pop up when the game fully closes but the menu kick does not.
For my group at least one person has crashed every time we play, although it is not always me as the host. We play once a week and do like 4-6 days at a time. I do find that my game is a bit laggy or freezing more often when a crash on anyone's end is about to happen.
However other player crashes can happen randomly during the ingame day. As the host my crashes only happen at the end of day when we are going to sleep for some reason. It does usually happen a few days into a session I think. Like 3 or more maybe.
Oooh great info, thanks for sharing all of this with us 📝 I actually forgot to ask whether you and all the guest were playing on Steam or not? Sorry I suddenly ask about Unreal Engine popup on previous chat 😅
But we'd love to take a look at the crash log! If you have time, would you share it with us?
You can access the crash log by copy-paste this file path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\Crashes filter the files by date to find the most recent one and send the .xml file here
We are all on steam. It seems I don't have a report from yesterday, but I do have one from last week. I'm pretty sure it'll be similar circumstances to what I described, but I don't have a great memory for when things happened, just that they did.
Facing the same issue. I am the host. happend three times in 2 hours. Going to sleep at night and game kicks me to the title screen
my savefile if needed
Thanks a lot for sharing the crash log. It’ll really help with our investigation! I’m part of the team as well, and sorry for the delayed response.
No worries at all about not remembering all the details; this already gives us a good direction. 🙌 Just a quick check,, are you or any of the other players using a controller? And what kind of connection is everyone on (WiFi/LAN, same region or different regions)?
Oh no, really sorry you’re running into this too, especially that often! 😞
Appreciate you offering the save file as well.
When you get a chance, could you also let us know if you’re using a controller, and what kind of connection you and your friends are on (WiFi/LAN, same region or different)?
I'm using a controller. PC is connected to LAN to a Fiber connection (im in Saudi Arabia). Friend connect to PS5 on Wifi. Ping between us tops at 120ms
Got it! When it happens, does it always kick you right when going to sleep, or after the results screen?
Also, do you see any connection-related messages in-game, or an Unreal Engine crash pop-up when it happens?
