Hi, one of the beacons isn't lit and I cannot progress but I have cleared all of the trash in the area. Is this normal?

Sometimes especially in the deeper areas the beacons are a lot further away than you expect them to be. You may have to keep going further out to find the beacon.

Okay, I think I've cleared all of the area circled above - should I go backwards from here since I can't find any more trash and can't progress?

Is it possible you did find the beacon, but missed picking it up?

I don't think so, I've done a couple loops round the area just making sure I got all the trash and didn't see/hear it.

Yeah you need to keep fanning out to try and find it if everything is truly cleared in the area. And if you need to go back the next day to continue to search for it clear out any trash that may respawn
