Game will freeze randomly. I'll step away or be playing and everything becomes frozen

Reproduction Steps- Game freezes on pause screen and/or while playing leaving me to have to keep playing until end of day, or risk losing my progress, only solve is to restart PC via the windows key on my keyboard and restart day.
Repro Rate- Everyday
Game Platform- Steam
Game Version- v1.2b-1246
Input Mode- Keyboard and Mouse
PC and GPU specs details- AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 8 core, 16GB ram, NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2060 Super 8GB
Crash log- no crash log available, as game is freezing not crashing...last crash log available is from 2023

Sorry you're dealing with those freezes—losing progress is the worst.
Does the freeze happen the moment you hit pause, or only after leaving it for a while? Also, are you running any other programs in the background while playing?

Only after playing or leaving it idle for a while. Usually around the 2-3 hour mark. The only other programs I ever have running in the background are Google Chrome and Steam.

just to confirm, you mentioned the repro rate happens every day — does the freeze usually happen after pausing for around 2–3 hours, or does it happen at different durations each time?

also, were you able to open task manager when the freeze occurred?

The repro rate is every single time I open the game (which is almost every day in real life) the freeze happens any time after the game has been running for 1-3 hours, and it doesn’t matter what I’m doing in game, it freezes at some point whether I’m doing any actions in-game, on a sub-menu, or the pause menu. I believe it does happen at different durations each time although I haven’t actually timed how long it takes to freeze.

And no, I did run the task manager, but once the freeze occurs, no other windows that I open become visible, just a black screen, which leads me to use the windows key to open the start button and restart my PC. The start menu is the only thing that is still visible at that point.

Do you remember what you were doing in-game when the freeze occurred? If you get a chance to play again, could you try recording the freeze when it happens in the middle of the game? if you can, a quick phone recording of it freezing would be really helpful.

The majority of the freezes occurred either during a cut-scene, walking around the map, or when I left the game on a sub-menu for too long. I will try to record it happening as soon as I can!

Well I captured 2 hours of gameplay and the game froze right after the recording cut off....but I didn't capture the freeze happening.... I suppose I should use different software next time.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I have been playing for many hours previously and the problem occurs just now. Please can you help fix this? I already tried re-installing the app again but doesn't work. Will really appreciate your help!

Hiyaa! Part of the teams here as well, is the freeze really happening as soon as the recording cut off? Like when the record stops, then it freeze few seconds later? 😮

If you don't mind, would you share that 2-hour recording? We can tell the teams that this is what you do right before the freezing happens, so they can use it to recreate your step and hopefully freeze on our end too ^^

No, the software I used had a 2 hour limit so I think it was just coincidence but I plan on getting a full recording today.
