My friend and I had this happen twice to us tonight. It doesn’t happen every time, but on two separate occasions we were playing multiplayer together and after a full day we both went to bed and instead of saving and ending the day it sent me, the host, to the stairway games logo and then the main menu. We’ve lost two days over this. Can’t play the game if progress isn’t saved. We’re both playing on Xbox. Thanks.

Just to confirm, which Xbox are you playing on? And is your friend playing on PC via Steam? Also, who was hosting the session?
I was playing on the series x and I was hosting. My friend was on the pc xbox app
This has been happening repeatedly to me and a friend in multiplayer too. Him on ps5, me on xbox series s hosting. We noticed it happens more if we play too many consecutive days in game so we let it save on day 2 or 3 and close the game completely and reload, we've had less issues doing this but it's still frustrating to have to do
It also seems to be a multiplayer focused issue as well. I have played several days on my solo game and I've had 0 issues.

Would you mind sharing what both the Host and Guest were doing on the in-game day when the save failed? Also, did you see any error message, or were you just sent back to the home screen? Any details you can remember would really help us look into this further!
I was the guest on Darthxmas' save and we did normal day things. Caught bugs, talked to townies, I was diving and He was working on chatting with different townies and filling requests. There were no major events on any of the days that the game quit to main menu, other than one of the days was a townie's birthday. On my screen, we would both gone to bed to end the day and I would catch a glimpse of the 'end of day' screen and then it would take me back to the main screen with a note saying the host lost internet connection. On his end it does say/do something else before taking him back to the main menu. This would happen either every other day or every 2 days. When we reload the save the day is restarted from the beginning so anything we had completed that day we had to redo. (I am the one on PC/Xbox app. Host, Darth, is on Xbox Series X)
I see, thanks so much for sharing some more details on what happened! Could you recall if during that day, you also finished any quest, placed anything new around the land/underwater farm, upgraded any tool or building, or built any new building? 😲
I believe that the very first time it happened I stopped at the black smith and paid to upgrade my scythe to silver. On another day I know Darth had placed a bunch of stone paths, but when that day failed we didn't replace them again as we found another way to lay our crops for the season. The final time it happened I know he had gathered some flowers around town and had gathered some new bugs that we were going to donate, and I had finished the last two gold spire things in the bottom part of the map in the ocean.
We had also played together on the same save about a week and a half prior to the new patch update and we had 0 problems. The day we both updated our games and played it right after updating is the same day we had the connection issues, which was 3/16/26.

Not even an hour in, it happened at the end of the second day we played

It's happened multiple times and each time we've been doing different things, the one time it was after the spooky festival so we had to redo all of the mini games 😭 i just get sent back to the home screen after seeing a brief glimpse of the end day screen, no error message at all and my co op player sees a message saying lost connection or something similar. We've been having the issue for a couple months so pre-update and it tends to be the second or third day of us playing where it will happen

We did them in a different order since this time we knew what we were doing and then yes it did save properly the second time

Not much, I know we did the haunted house first multiple times to see all the rooms, then i think maybe the ring toss and I can't remember after that. The second day we did the whack the skulls one first, then the scavenger hunt, ring toss and didnt do the haunted house at all since we'd already seen it
This has been happening to me as well. I am the host and I have stable connection and a really good computer. Its unplayable at this point. We lost SO much progress because the game just crashes before the new day starts and the game saves. It was once every few days and then now its almost every single day that the crash happens, all at the same time.

Could you let us know which platform the Hsst and Guest are playing from (Steam PC/Deck, Xbox PC/S/X, PlayStation 5)? And could you confirm if the crash mostly happens on the Host's part?
We are all on steam and its crashing on host part
No, just back to the main screen as if we've just loaded the game
Thanks for your confirmation! Did the host receive any crash log? They can retrieve it by copy-pasting the following file path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\Crashes then filter the date to the most recent one and attach the .xml file here

I get no error message, my coop partner gets a host disconnected type message but thats all

We usually do when it happens, just to make sure neither of us is having issues. Our speeds are the same as our usual average, mine is around 90-100mbps and Guest above 70
i checked and there is no crash log from these incidents
its just losing connection
all of our internet speeds are over 800 mbps

Can you try syncing time on your PC?
You can do it by going to:
- Start, then Settings, then Time & Language, then Date & Time
- Make sure “Set time automatically” is turned on, then click “Sync now.”

Is this after syncing time on PC? Did both the guest and host sync or just one of you? Can you screenshot the time settings?
Another player in our community mentioned they were able to fix this issue by syncing their system timezone.
You could try the steps below to see if it helps:
- Select Start, then go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time
- Make sure “Set time automatically” is turned on
- Then click “Sync now” under the Synchronize your clock section

Is there a similar fix for console? My original issue was with me on xbox as the host and my friend was playing on pc. They just did the timezone sync on their end, but I don’t have anything like that for the Xbox.
can you clarify if after your friend did the time sync on their PC the issue still persists or not?
