Coral Island crash?

Coral Island has been freezing ever since I used Coral Island on my new laptop. Initially, it started during customization, day 1 and when I started playing the game, although I changed my graphics it froze after a few hours into the game.

I checked online and checked the integrity of my files, and it seemed to work for a few hours before it froze once more, but now, it seems that Coral Island instead just the game freezing, it overtakes the background of my screen as well and I am unable to open any other windows to forcefully close the game, so I have to shut down my pc altogether.

Is there a way to fix this? Please let me know.

When the game froze, did it start working again after a few seconds, or did it completely stop and you had to close it through Task Manager?

Also, if you set your FPS to 30 or 60, does the freeze still happen?

When the game freezes I am unable to open other tabs except coral island. And I have yet to try set a limit to my fps if possible

After Coral Island froze for the 4th time, it seemed to close itself on its own

Seems to be an unreal engine crash that has been the issue of all this

You can access the crash log by copy-paste this file path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\Crashes filter the files by date to find the most recent one and send the .xml file here

Thanks for sharing this! Hmm… have you tried reinstalling the game and verifying the game files before launching it again? 😮

You can do this by right-clicking the game in your Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files.

Okay so the team’s currently doing a deeper dive into this issue, and we noticed all the reports so far are from players using an Intel Arc GPU, same as yours. So we’re trying to check if it might be related to that.

Also, you’re the only one so far who has crash logs generated, so it’d be super helpful if you could share the full logs with us!

You can grab them by pasting this into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\Crashes then just zip everything in that folder and send it here.

Any chance you tried lowering the graphics preset when you mentioned it's working a few days ago? 😮

For now it seems to be working, perhaps it was an error or something. But if it happens again, I'll try lowering the graphics, thank you for the help! and how recent have these crashes been happening for intel users?

It’s actually not super recent, this has been happening since 1.1b. We just didn’t realize until now that you all have the same GPU, so it was kind of a “connect the dots” moment for us 😆

A couple of players mentioned that lowering the graphics to Medium helped on their end, so I asked if you were also lowering it previously! 🙂

Good afternoon, seems that I have adjusted my graphics, but after a few hours, I seem to run into the same problem. For now, I might put off the game and wait for the new update and see if it gets fixed or something similar, but thank you for the help!

Also just to double check, what graphics setting are you on now, is it Medium? 😮

Yes it was medium as you recommended, and while in Ultra graphics it wasn't a problem I saw it more "smooth" but it still didn't make that much of a difference and yes it was the same type of error I have gotten. Thank you for checking though! Hopefully this problem will be addressed on any updates or something soon.
