Crashing because of Lizard pet???

I’m on Xbox Series. I bought a Lizard and ever since our game crashes at the end of the day and I have to repeat getting him the next day, game progresses. Then crashes at the end of the day, I’ve tried removing his bed, having his bed there. Nothing works really.

Just wanted to clarify: when you say “repeat getting him the next day,” do you mean when you click to adopt the lizard, or the cutscene where the lizard arrives at your house? 😮

Also who’s the one crashing, the host or the guest?

The cutscene where he arrives at my house. I’m not POSITIVE it’s because of the Lizard but we didn’t have crashes like this until I got him, I assume it’s the host that’s losing connection because I’m the guest. Then when we rest to go to the next day it’s sending us back to the main menu when we try resulting in losing all our days progress

Got it, thanks for explaining! Just to check a couple more things: is the lizard your first pet? And has the host adopted any pets before? If yes, did everything work fine when they adopted theirs?

It is my first pet and the host adopted a dog but they didn’t have any problems with theirs

Ahh noted! If you happen to remember, could you share what you and the host were doing during that day? Maybe some of the activities that day are triggering the crash at the end of the day 😮
Or if you’re open to trying, maybe after the cutscene you and the host could go straight to bed. That way we can check if the cutscene is really the thing causing the crash

Ok the cutscene doesn’t play anymore. We managed to make it to the next day. And I have him with me. However it’s still crashing. I was in the mines pretty much all day and the host was diving. It seems like it’s every other day that it crashes as well. We can get through a day. It saves, then the next day we try again and it crashes. It keeps going back and forth if that makes sense 😅

So just to make sure I understand correctly: when you play, you can only finish one in-game day, and then the next day it always crashes? 😮

That’s correct. We can boot it up again and finish that day that crashed. Then the next day goes just fine. Then the day after it crashes. So it goes crash, fine crash fine and keeps flipping back and forth

Do you happen to remember if both the host and the guest were doing similar activities on the days it crashed vs. the days it didn’t? We’re trying to see if a certain activity might be triggering it.

No we were both doing different things. I gave some gifts during the day same with the host and then I went mining and she went diving

Sometimes? It’s not very often the host goes mining

Do you usually go mining right before bed? We recently had a similar report from a console player as well, but we haven’t been able to pinpoint the exact cause yet 😮

Yeah usually. I mine until about 10 or 11 come back and we try to sleep

Do you remember if, on the days when the crash didn’t happen, you were also mining before going to sleep? 😮

I’m not sure. I just know the days that I did mine it crashed however I’m not sure about the days it didn’t crash

Ahh got it! If possible, could you try playing for two in-game days without going to the mine and see if the game lets you reach the third day without crashing?
Let us know what happens! That would really help us narrow it down 😊

Yeah of course! My wife and I won’t really get to play until tomorrow but I’ll try it and keep you updated 😁

We played 2 days with no mining and had 0 crashes. We played the next day only mining half day, slept at 10am, had no crash. Next day mined all day, slept at midnight, it crashed.

Hmmm... I guess the trigger really is mining before sleeping 😮

Are you able to share a few bits of info for us:

• Did both of you go mining, or just the host/guest?
• When you mined all day, did you go straight to the mine after waking up, stay there all day, then head home and sleep?
• Which mine was it? Starlet Town Cave or Cave of Memories in the Savannah?

It was just me (the guest) that went mining I went straight to the mine stayed there all day then headed back home to sleep. It was also in the Starlet Town Cave.

We’ve played a couple days and have not had any crashes actually. Even when I went mining, Not sure if the last update fixed the problem or not. But I’ll let you know if it crashes again and record it 😁
