I've been playing the game for 4 years, and still haven't found these. What am I doing wrong?

I can't tell you have many chests I have opened over the years. I am starting to think its bug? Has anyone else found these and if so, do you remember where you found them?

Ancient maps drop from ornate coffers. Would have to double check which fossil gives plesiosaur skull.

Is there a method to farming ornate chests? I am guessing the ocean in one of the caves?

Ornate coffer is the 10m chest I think?

So the cave in the area that spawns bronze kelp is your best bet

make sure to enchant your scythe with rare drop if it's not already. And level the enchantment up as much as you can.
