Have been getting back into Coral Island pretty heavy. Want to sink into one save. Will the upcoming big update require a restart of the save files/will i be unable to experience things unless I start again?

Where did you hear that we're not getting a game update until Q2 of the year. That's not posted in the blog .

1.1, 1.2, 1.3 can receive multiple updates. Without it being stated by the devs " 1.3 won't be released until xyz " we likely shouldn't start assuming

I'm not sure what you mean. The next update is 1.3. the plan is to release it in Q2, assuming beta testing goes well
are you talking about hotfixes?
I'm pretty sure having it on the main screen of their game IS the devs stating it
and, considering Q1 ends in 28 days and we still don't have a beta, it's a pretty safe bet 1.3 isn't coming during Q1

It's not like every quarter has to have something (especially since bigger updates with content take more time). And if there was something it would just be small patches with hotfixes but there has not been any mentions on that either so unlikely to see that in Q1.

There is a hotfix in QA for 1.2b right now according to #📓coral-developer-diary
When will it release depends on consoles.

I think HoneyDew may have been mixing up what Q1/2 means with game versions. it just seemed like a misunderstanding
