#Crash END of DAYS
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Hello @olive musk,
Sorry to hear that - crashing at the end of the day is honestly one of the most frustrating times it can happen 😞 especially after you’ve done a full day of progress.
Could you let us know what platform you’re on? And if the issue happens in Singleplayer or Multiplayer mode?
Regarding the save button, we understand how important this feature is. Our development team is actively working on implementing manual save feature, with plans to include it in the upcoming 1.3 update.
For more details, please feel free to check our latest dev blog here: https://blog.stairwaygames.com/post/1-million-units-full-crossplay-roadmap
Im on PC, Single player. But I think my processor is malfunctionning.
My config :
CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900KF (3.20 GHz)
GPU : Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090
RAM : 64,0 Go
Thanks so much for sharing this! (I’m part of the team here as well 👋 )
Since you’re playing on PC, I’m guessing it’s on Steam? Could you help us by grabbing your crash log?
Just copy and paste this into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\Crashes
Then sort the files by date, find the most recent one, and send us the .xml file here. That’ll really help us take a closer look!
Thankies! We'll have a look ✨
Ah by any chance were you mining or diving on the day the crash happened? 😮
Mining on this one, but it happens also with new account day 1 without doing anything just sleep
Really? Did you create a new save file just to check if it would crash? 😮
yes
Could you send over the logs too? We just want to see if it’s showing the same error code
2 try🙃
Oh! This one’s actually showing a different code than the one you sent earlier! This is from the new save file, right? 😮
yes
In your previous save file, did you happen to see this pop-up?
Ahh got it, and so sorry again about the crash! 🙏
After checking the crash log you shared earlier, I noticed it’s the same error as the one reported here:
https://discord.com/channels/623097219628662784/1446870972174041140. Your CPU and RAM specs also match the player who reported it there, which is really helpful for our investigation!
We’re still looking into this and haven’t found a fix just yet, but it’s actively being investigated 🙇♀️
In the meantime, have you had a chance to try reinstalling the game or verifying the integrity of the game files on Steam? 🙂
not reinstalling but verifying
If you don't mind, could you try reinstalling the game first, then verifying the game files before launching it again?
ok
Great, thanks a lot for your help!
thnks you too
Yep yep, please keep us posted! ✨
done everything good
Oh really? So you’re no longer experiencing crashes after reinstalling and verifying? That’s great to hear! 😊
Ohhh but this one actually has a different code than the last one tho 👀 I'll pass this to the team and see what’s up. I’ll update you again soon!
Still crashing, don't know why but it happens a lot more on this game, if you have some fixes I can try ?
Would you mind resending the newest logs you’ve got? We noticed the latest code looks different from the one you shared before, so we’d like to take another look and reanalyze it just to be sure 😮
Got it!! Hmm, based on the logs, this one matches the one you sent previously (not the earliest one).
Does the crash also happen during saving? And have you tried installing the game on a different drive to see if it makes any difference?
The crash always happens during saving. I don't know how to install on a different drive
like on USB key ?
You can right-click Coral Island in your Steam Library, then go to Installed Files. There you’ll be able to see which drive the game is currently installed on.
For example, if it’s installed on the (D:) drive, you can try uninstalling it and reinstalling it on a different drive like (C:) or (E:), depending on how many drives you have available.
I can’t do Another drive like (E:), When I try, I get an error message saying that my disk is damaged.
I even tried the chsdsk command, but the scan didn't work.
Could you share a screenshot of the “disk is damaged” error message? We wanna share it with the team and take a closer look 😮
No problem, thanks for sharing! I’ll pass this along to the team and get back to you once we have an update 🙌
Thx
Maybe is it cause I played Coral Island on game pass with my console (a year ago) cause the game appears on my xbox app on pc ? But when I load the game the first time on my pc there was no save of my old game and im on steam now so I don't know.
Hmmm yeah, since Steam and Xbox/Game Pass don’t support save transfers between platforms, it’s normal that your old save file doesn’t show up after buying the game on Steam.
But, I’m not sure yet if that’s related to the crash though... I’ll need to double-check with the team 👌
Also just to make sure, your drive isn’t full, right? Could you share a quick screenshot of your storage space like this? That would help us figure out the error message before 😮
Oh wait, do you only have the (C:) drive on your PC? 😮
yes
We just heard back from the team, and they mentioned the crash is very likely caused by a corrupted disk.
While we can’t guarantee 100% that the steps below will fix it, it’s definitely worth trying:
To check and repair the affected drive:
- Open File Explorer and locate the affected (corrupted) volume.
- Right-click the volume and select Properties.
- Navigate to the Tools tab.
- Under Error Checking, click Check.
- Select Repair Drive and allow the process to complete.
- Once finished, repeat the error-checking process one more time to ensure the drive is fully repaired.
To shrink the partition:
- Right-click the Start button and select Disk Management.
- In Disk Management, right-click the volume you wish to shrink.
- Select Shrink Volume.
- Enter the amount of space you would like to reduce from the volume.
- Click Shrink to complete the process.

Hey Guys, I'm Here To Show You How to Fix this Error - The volume you have selected to shrink may be corrupted. Use Chkdsk to fix the corruption problem, and then try to shrink the volume again.
Make sure to do another check if you don't get any errors in the first check.

thanks but I already tried something like that but when I restart my pc the repair runs twice, then the PC starts without doing it. I just tried like the video but my pc need to restart at this step : Under Error Checking, click Check. Sorry to bother you with my problems, I'm going to have my PC diagnosed by a professional because I'm sure something is wrong.
