#Performance issues after in-game week (memory leak?)

Me (guest player) and my wife (host player) play Coral Island every few days for 3-10 in-game days. When we play 5 or less in-game days this issue doesn't occur. When we play longer my (guest's) game becomes laggy. I see a small lag on day 6 or 7, then bigger lag on day 8 or 9 and it becomes unbearable on day 10 (sometimes sooner). My wife's (host's) game is not laggy. So I restart my (guest's) Coral Island and when I try to connect to my wife's session I get an error stating the connection is unstable. If my wife restarts Coral Island, everything comes back to normal (I can connect and the gameplay is smooth).

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Start a multiplayer game.
  2. Play for more than 5 days.
  3. After day 5 (or 6 in some cases) guest's game becomes laggy and the lag grows bigger with every day.
    Repro Rate: 100%
    Game Platform: Steam
    Game Version: 1.2b-1245
    Input Mode: Keyboard and mouse

Hello @mossy root, Thanks for sharing your experience with us, and sorry if it interrupted your multiplayer gameplay. 🙏

To help us narrow this down, could you please let us know:

  1. What in-game day, season, and year are you on when the lag starts becoming noticeable?
  2. What graphics preset is the guest player using (Low / Medium / High / Custom)? If you could share the screenshots of the guest Display Setting, that would be helpful too.

Also, could you please provide the host’s save file where this issue consistently happens?
The host can find it by copy-paste this file path to the File Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames

Thanks a lot — we really appreciate your help goatlove2

@frosty pelican since my last post there have been no performance issues. I don't know if it's relevant but I updated NVIDIA drivers (on both host's and guest's laptops) from December 2025 to January 2026 version via NVIDIA APP.

Thanks so much for the update and for sharing the screenshots and save file - that’s really helpful!

Good to hear there haven’t been any performance issues since then.

Just to double-check, did you also change any in-game display or graphics presets around the same time (for example, switching display mode or lowering/raising quality), or was the NVIDIA driver update the only change?

@frosty pelican NVIDIA driver update was the only change.
