#Co-op scythe upgrade issue

Hello! Im playing co-op with my boyfriend and he put a scythe to be upgraded to bronze and it took the materials and money.
However, 4 days passed and we never got the message that it was finished.. we had to select the find my missing tools option to get it back and it never upgraded.. is there a way to get the money and materials back?
