Playing multiplayer with my friends, I'm the host and the other three complete the swimming contest in about 3 seconds. My best time is 23 seconds, we each have around 800 stamina and they watched my stream and I watched theirs so we all know I'm doing the same exact thing they are, but for some reason the contest remains unwinnable for me. Stopping on the gold line to get stamina back causes me to lose all momentum and it takes over half my bar to even start moving again afterwards.

Reproduction Steps: We had gone to the Beach Cleanup event and all entered into the swimming contest, was very normal and nothing weird.
Repro Rate: Both year one and two at the event this happened.
In-Game Date & Time: Summer 27 years 1 and 2, we went to the event around 11am in game time.
Players & Platform: Four total players, three on pc and one on Xbox. I'm the host and I play on steam on pc
Game Version: v1.2b-1245
Input Mode: Keyboard & Mouse
PC Specs:

Just to confirm, is this only happening for you as the host, or do any of your friends experience it as well?
Have you tried the swimming contest again since then, and does the issue still happen?
If you’re able to record a short video of it, that would really help us understand what’s going on.

It only happens to me, everyone else does just fine in it. We already moved past the event so I'll have to wait until next in game year to see if I can record it
