As it says it seems like the new event tag is bugged. It’s been stuck on for some NPCs for a while. It’s stuck for Ben, Chaem, Eva, Kenny, Leah, lily, Luke, macy, Millie, Nina, Noah, raj, suki, surya, Theo, yuri and zarah
Repo - open game, navigate to townsfolk menu, see NPC has “new event”, hang out with said NPC, no event triggered, label for “new event” remains

Those look like hangout events. Have you asked them to hangout to trigger the event?

That is a good possibility as they do have multiple hangout events

I’ll keep hanging out the max number of times per week and see if they eventually go. Maybe it isn’t a bug they just seem to have been there forever

Can you screenshot one of the townies relationship tab? Should show what hangout/heart events your missing. If your not missing any then all the check marks will be filled in
