Cannot join friend's farm in co-op

Hi, my friend is new to Coral Island and started to host a new farm. I've been playing for awhile and enjoy the game. I can't join them. When they try to invite me through Steam, I get the notification but the game just launches with nothing happening. When I try to enter their invite code, it says session not found.

What windows versions do you have? Is there a chance one of you has windows 10 still?
