I hope this is the right tag and the place to ask. I haven't played since August of last year because I was waiting for more romance related gameplay to drop and college schoolwork just prolonged this hiatus. If I want to get caught up with everything I missed, should I just read all the update summaries or could someone fill me in? I'm also unsure if I should make a new file because I want to keep the one I've been playing on since early release and I have a ton of gold. I also don't want to redo the mermaid questline of cleaning the ocean floor again, I remember that taking forever XD (Also have they fixed the scythe speed underwater? I remember it used to be fast but then once you got the fish tail it becomes slower again, was unsure if that was a bug or not.)

You can always play your old save file and continue from where you were.
I would mention though, they introduced new romance system where you can ask single NPC to hangout with you and then see a cutscene that develops character and your relationship. If you’re married you won’t be able to see the cutscenes where you start the relationship, but will be able to continue to see married scenes.
There has been 3 major updates since you stopped, you can either just hop in and see for yourself what’s new.
