PC game not responding.

Hi, is anyone else encountering their game not responding? I’ve experienced this three times already, and it’s really frustrating because it always happens at night, after I’ve already made a lot of progress during the day. Any fix or tips? Thank you.

That’s my problem—the crashing and “not responding” happened at random times or events. I just encountered the game not responding while I was running in the forest, not opening anything, just running going to the cave part. I don’t know when to start recording since the trigger for the issue is unknown. It just happens at any time.

also try seeing if maybe someone else has a report hopefully similar with a possible fix

Mine does the same thing too. Randomly freezes and I can't even close it, I have to restart my pc.

Hello @oak shale @rustic forge, thanks for letting us know about the random freeze you’re experiencing. If possible, could you share what activities you were doing and the location you were in (as far as you can remember) right before the freeze occurred?

Reproduction Steps: Game keeps randomly freezes, while pausing or middle of game, at a totally random time (can be middle of the day, morning, or just the pause screen). It does not resolves itself, the game can not be closed, the PC needs to be restarted.

Last time it happened I was in the mines, mining, but it happened while I was farming too, or pausing the game to do something else while it's in the background.

Repro Rate: 3-4x daily (in a minimum of 10 hour gameplay)
Game Platform: Steam PC
Game Version: Build version v1 .2b- 1245
Input Mode: Keyboard & Mouse
PC Specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics (3.20 GHz)
32,0 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU

It's also a brand new safe file for me, made after the update, so it can't be the issue.

Got it, thanks for sharing this information! 😉 You mentioned that this happened in a minimum of 10 hours of gameplay. Just to clarify, was the game running continuously for that entire time, and did the freezing occur after those 10 hours? 😮

Also, have you had a chance to open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to check if there were any noticeable spikes in CPU, memory, or GPU usage around the time the freeze happened?

the freezing occured after 1-3 hours of gameplay, 3-4 times during the 10 hours

Also I had to restart the laptop each time so it didn't run continuously

Have you tried reinstalling the game or verifying the integrity of the game files to see if the freezing still happens? 😮
You can verify the files by right-clicking the game in your Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files.

Sure thing! Just reinstalled it, so I'll get onto doing that.

Nah it didn't solve the problem. Just happened again, basically 1 hour in as I started playing immidietly. I was just choosing a New skill on the skill tree and it froze

So it behaves like this, doesn't let me pull up anything else, just stays on the pause screen, which the game puts on it's own. I wasn't even in the mines as the background shows. I was in the farm

At this pont my only option is to restart the laptop

When you have a moment, could you please share a screenshot of your in-game display/graphics settings as well?
Also, can you confirm whether you’re playing in fullscreen or borderless/windowed mode?
