Just like the title says. If I cut away and clear grass from overgrown areas in the forest and what not. Will this in turn lead to more forageable things to spawn? or am I wasting time and energy?

I don't think it really leads to more stuff spawning, but it sure makes it easier for you to see forage items and bugs when they spawn. it also gets you a ton of hay and ranks up your forage skill
