Audio Bug?

Title : I am hearing random chuckles during the day and night as I play my game. I have posted about this on the Discord server and on Reddit but no one else is admitting to hearing a random male voice saying "bwa-ha-haa" at odd times. This happens randomly both day and night. Also - the Ultimate Scarecrow now makes a noise like "beep beep" and a mumble when I change skins. But not all the time. Are these audio bugs? They started after the last update. Also - my changing menu still displays me in my mermaid form while I am on land (reported earlier on PS5 - also on Steam) and if I close the game, my underwater animals still persist in not giving products (reported earlier).
Repro Rate: Daily/When I change skins on the Ultimate Scarecrow (but not each time)

I've heard the deep laughing sound as well. (On PC). I haven't messed with scarecrow skins

Hey @barren idol ! Do you happen to have a video so we can clearly hear the sound you’re experiencing? It would also help to know what you’re usually doing when you hear it most often.

As for the Ultimate Scarecrow, in the latest update we did add sound effects for all scarecrows.

For the mermaid form issue, since you’ve reported this before, we’re still following up on your previous post and keeping track of it.

About the underwater animals not producing items, have you made a separate post about this before? If not, it would be helpful to create one so the team can investigate it properly.

Hello @obtuse sky Thanks for letting us know. Could you explain in a bit more detail what you were doing when you heard the deep laughing sound? If possible, could you also record it so we can hear exactly what you’re hearing?

I would have to video the entire day and I don't think that's possible. The sound appears randomly, not in relation to anything I'm doing, and from your response, I'm guessing this is something you're not familiar with. It happens at odd times when I'm running around, or in the basement, or in one of my sheds. Do you still want a vid of the mermaid form? And yes, I did report the issue about the underwater animals. They were doing this prior to the update and this has continued.

Hey, no worries at all — we understand. Since the game has quite a lot of sound effects, we do need to check exactly which sound you’re hearing so we can narrow it down. There’s no rush, you can record it whenever you’re ready.

And yes, we’d still appreciate a video of the mermaid form issue as well, just so we have clear footage to reference.

Ok. I thought you would be able to identify these issues by the save file I attached. Doesn't that allow you to basically play my game?

I know I've heard it after closing my chests. Not sure if there were other times.

Yep, the save file helps a lot and lets us check your game state, but we still need to know the specific actions that trigger the issue.

Could you let us know where this happens most often — on the farm, in the forest, in town, or underwater?
Also, if you don’t do anything that day and just go to sleep, does the issue still persist?

If you’re able to, please send us your save file as well. To retrieve the files, you can copy-paste the following file path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames then compress the SaveGames folder into a ZIP file before sending it here

That would really help us investigate further.

Ardian - HOW in the world am I supposed to send you video clips from my Steam game? Steam itself will not allow me to send them and while I found where the videos are on my pc, I cannot play them in order to tell what the clip is of. The laugh occurs randomly while I am on my farm. My Giggling Fairy is bold and laughs whenever - not tied to one event (like Zinora's). I can send you an updated .sav file if you want but I do now have 3 captures which culminate in the Fairy's chuckle (which is a tad sinister). Please advise how to send the clips to you. Thanks.

Zinrora is very astute and absolutely correct. The chuckle does happen after closing a chest. I looked at my saves and she is right. I played through several days and paid close attention. It occurs after closing a chest but not every time. The new chime noise is not needed as a precursor to the chuckle. It can come after closing a "silent" chest. Hope this helps identify what the cause is.
