Crashing when placing trash collector

I’ve tried to place trash collectors twice now in the ocean and both times the device sets off and just as it starts to collect the trash, the game crashes.

May I ask—does this issue happen in all areas (including the underwater cave), or only in that specific spot?

Haven’t tried the caves. It’s different spots each time. First instance crashed immediately. All subsequent ones crash when the device starts to suck the trash up.

I didn’t realise you could deploy them in the caves. I thought they would respawn.

This also happened to me, and I attempted three times, hoping that it won’t crash anymore (latest game crash after placing the auto trash collector was a minute ago). Looking forward for this to be fixed. Thank you!

this just happened to me too, first time placing auto trash collector, i sent a report through the PS5. it was exactly the same as the video posted by OP.. was so excited to not have to manually collect trash 😭🥲😂

Also happening with me on PS5 as P2 with partner who hosts on PS5. Both of us are on latest version and both times we've crashed is when I am able to finally buy the trash collector from the Lab and when I go to deploy it underwater, it crashes once it looks like it's sucking up it's first trash piece. I did the underwater farm the first time and just tried outside of the farm to the left.

It happens to me as well on PS5, I tried to leave the ocean before game crashed, but a second after I got to the pier it crashes

This has just happened to me 4 times after I spent so long running around collecting everything I needed to make it 😭 i also had a random crash earlier today unrelated to the auto trash collector (I didn't own it at this point) not sure what caused it, cant remember what I was doing at the time but it was night time and because there's no manual save i lost sooo much work 😭. Is there any news on when an update will be?

Hello! Really sorry about the crashes you’ve been experiencing. We know how frustrating it is, especially having it happen multiple times

Right now, the crashes we’ve identified and are actively fixing are related to the trash collector and placing the Deep Sea Grotto fireplace in the house. For other cases, we’re still investigating

Since you mentioned this one isn’t related to the trash collector, could you please create a new report for it? That way we can properly follow up, since this thread is specifically for the trash collector crash.

I had 5 crashes total yesterday, 4 were from the trash collector, im not sure what the other one was from, I wasn't doing anything specific or different at the time, I was playing for a few hours today and didn't have any issues.
